South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch

The southern regions of Gujarat including South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch are rainfed. Today and tomorrow, courtesy of an active low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, these areas are expected to receive much-needed rain. This development is a boon for the local farmers, who are eagerly waiting for these rains.

Five day rain forecast

હવામાન વિભાગે આગામી પાંચ દિવસ સુધી સમગ્ર ગુજરાતમાં વરસાદની વિસ્તૃત આગાહી કરી છે. કેટલાક વિસ્તારોમાં ભારે પવન સાથે વરસાદ પડશે. ખાસ કરીને મહિનાની 7મીથી 10મી સુધી દક્ષિણ ગુજરાત અને સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભારે વરસાદની સંભાવના છે.

In South Gujarat, rain is likely in districts including Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Valsad, Navsari, Daman, Dadranagar, Chotaudepur, and Narmada, while areas like Ahmedabad, Kheda, Dahod, Mahisagar and Panchmahal are expected to receive moderate rain. Parts of Saurashtra including Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath and Diu may also receive normal rainfall during this period.
September 10 and beyond

Weather experts suggest that Gujarat’s climate will undergo significant changes from today to September 10. A strong Monsoon system is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal, bringing rain to the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, South Gujarat and Saurashtra.

The state is likely to receive significant rainfall during the first and second weekend of the month, with heavy rainfall expected from September 13 to 20. During this period, another weather system will develop over the Arabian Sea, bringing rain to the coastal parts of Saurashtra.

District wise warnings

South Gujarat is on high alert for heavy rains on September 7 and 8. Further, the weather forecast indicates the possibility of rain in some areas of North Gujarat starting from September 6. Rains are expected to intensify over the next five days, especially in South Gujarat.
