The National Means Come Merit Scholarship (NMMS) scheme for the students studying in class 8 is being implemented by the Ministry of Education, Government of India with the aim of enabling bright students from poor financial status to complete their studies up to class 12 and to reduce the drop out rate in secondary and higher secondary schools. is placed.

Benefits Available in NMMS Scholarship    

Students whose children are studying in class-8 have to apply online to avail this assistance. The students who will pass and after the examination, the students who come in merit in the fixed quota category wise will get Rs 1000/- per month . That means they will get 12000/- per year. Which will be available till they study upto class-12 i.e. a total of Rs.48000/- is available to the beneficiary student for 4 years.

Student Eligibility for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship 2024:

• Students studying in Government Primary Schools, Local Body Schools (Zilla Panchayat/Mahanagarpalika/Municipality School) and Granted Primary Schools in the current academic year will be able to take the NMMS exam.
• General Category and O.B.C. Category student should have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in class-7. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) student should have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Class-7.
• Note:- Students of private schools (Private Schools/Self Finance Schools), Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and residential schools run by Central/State Government Institutions providing accommodation, meals and study facilities will not be able to fill the application form in this examination.

NMMS Scholarship 2024 Income Limit :

The annual income of the candidate’s guardian should not exceed 3,50,000/- as determined for the NMMS examination. A certified copy of the annual income statement of the parent must be attached with the application form of the student. (Example of official authorized by Govt. to be attached)

National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Exam Fee:

General category, EWS and OBC. The examination fee for category students will be Rs.70/-. Ph., Sc. And ST. Examination fee for category students will be Rs.50/-. Service charge has to be paid separately. Fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

• Mark sheet of the student of class-7 or its equivalent basis.

NMMS Scholarship Syllabus:

• The 90 questions of MAT Mental Aptitude Test will be of verbal and non-verbal logical reasoning. These questions will include Analogy, Classification, Numerical Series, Pattern Perception, Hidden Figure etc.
• The 90 questions of the SAT Academic Aptitude Test will cover math, science and social science subjects of class-7 and class-8.
  • For class-7 there will be the syllabus of the previous academic year.
  • For Class-8, the syllabus of the first semester of the current academic year will be the same.

Qualifying Marks:

• General and O.B.C. Category students have to secure 40% marks in aggregate in both sections and SC. And ST. Category students must secure 3% marks in aggregate in both sections.
• Among the students who have secured the qualifying marks, only the meritorious students will be eligible for the scholarship as per the district-wise-category-wise fixed quota.
