You cannot read newspapers on mobile from today

Sharing PDF copies of newspapers in many languages, including Gujarati, in WhatsApp will now be considered illegal. This means that you can no longer read the paper found in WhatsApp. Now you just have to order a hard copy to read the newspaper.
In times of lockdown, newspapers have been plagued by distribution problems. As a result, it would now be illegal to share a PDF copy of a newspaper. The social media app WhatsApp cannot be shared by creating a PDF file of any newspaper in the Telegram group. But if you violate this rule, the newspaper owners can take legal action against you and also impose fines. If anyone shares a newspaper in WhatsApp, Telegram group, the group admin will be responsible for it.
The motive behind the decision is that the incidence of e-paper copying and digital piracy is on the rise. Newspapers, on the other hand, are losing revenue. With this in mind, the Indian Newspaper Society has warned that it is illegal to download pages from e-papers of newspapers and share their PDF files in WhatsApp or Telegram groups. Newspapers can take strict legal and hefty fines against anyone who illegally shares on social media by copying an e-paper or part of it.
On the advice of INS, the newspaper group will also use a technique that will identify the person who downloaded the PDF file of the newspaper and shared it on social media. Users who download more than the prescribed number of PDFs per week may also be blocked.
