All the crowded places including vehicles, markets, tourist places, trains and malls are closed on the road following lockdown in the country. People are at home and professional as well as general practice are currently closed. This has improved the water quality of the river Ganges.

According to the experts, the cleanliness of the Ganges water has improved by 40 to 50 percent at the time of lockdown. The recent lockdown has reduced the number of devotees and tourists coming to Haridwar and Rishikesh. As a result, the river Ganges has become more clean.

Due to this there is now water in the river Ganges has become so clean in Haridwar that it can be used after drinking. After the lockdown was announced in the wake of the Corona virus, the entry to the general public in the historic Ganga Aarti was closed and the live broadcast of this Aarti is being broadcast. So far, a total of 30 cases of Corona virus have been reported in Uttarakhand.

So far, there have been more than 8000 cases of corona virus reported in the country. While 643 people have recovered. During the past 24 hours, 1035 new cases of Corona virus have come out and 40 people have died. So far, 239 people have died due to corona virus in the country. Talking about Gujarat, so far 468 cases of corona virus have been registered in Gujarat and 19 people have died due to corona. Ahmedabad has reported the highest number of 266 cases of corona virus.
