Before Diwali, Modi government will give big gifts to employees

Before Diwali, the government is going to give big gifts to central employees. The government may increase the costly allowances of central employees. This means that the government is likely to increase the salaries of employees even before Diwali. To that end, the government has announced a change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW) base year on October 21. It will directly benefit 48 lakh employees.

Salary will also increase

If the government changes the base year to 2016, the costly allowances for employees will increase.

According to media reports, the move will directly increase the salaries of central employees. Because its inflation depends on the calculation of the allowance. At present, the government has frozen the increase in inflation allowance till June 2021 in view of the Corona virus epidemic. Employees will be paid 17 per cent DA at the previous rate. This means that an increase in the salaries of central government employees may take some time.

Employee DA increase four percent in March

In March, the government hiked the DA of central government employees by four per cent. However, when the government took charge in April due to the epidemic, it decided to implement it from June 2021. Currently the government has given big gifts to all its officers and employees on festivals. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an advance payment for expenses to boost demand. It announced the LTC Cash Weaver Scheme and the Special Festival Advance Scheme.
