The term will not be mentioned in the LC of Std-9 and 11 students
Following Corona, no annual examinations have been held in Std. 1 to 8 as well as Std. 9 and 11 this year and when the state government has announced to give mass promotion, only the circular issued by the Gujarat Board of Education regarding promotion has been changed.
The word mass promotion is not mentioned in the student’s LC
As per the circular issued to all DEOs by the Gujarat Board of Education earlier, the word mass promotion should not be mentioned in the LC of a student.
More than 6 lakh students are studying in standard 11
In addition, a significant amendment has been made by the board in the rule of gracing, according to which the principal is allowed to give more than ten grace marks. Until now, according to the rules of the board, if a student could not appear for the examination due to medical reasons or even 33% of the average marks in the previous examinations as well as the attendance marks, then the principal could pass the student by giving 10 marks as grading. But the board has revoked the grace mark limit by amending the rule. It is important to note that at present more than eight lakh students are studying in Std-9 across the state and more than 6 lakh students are studying in Std-11.
