PM Narendra Modi will address at 9 a.m.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the International Vesak International Day on Thursday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. PM Makodi will address the occasion at 9 a.m.

The festival of Buddha Purnima will be celebrated through light streaming due to the transmission of Corona virus. The festival is being held in memory of those killed in the transition and in honor of the Corona-19 warriors. The Ministry of Culture, in association with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), is organizing a virtual prayer program. It will be attended by presidents of Buddhist associations around the world.

The prayer service will be shown live from the Holy Garden Lumbini (Nepal), Mahabodhi Temple (Bodhgaya, India), Mulgandh Kuti Vihar (Sarnath), Parinirvana Stupa (Kushinagar) and other places. It is worth mentioning that Vesak Day on Buddha Purnima is celebrated in memory of Lord Buddha’s birth, attainment of enlightenment and his Mahaparinirvana.
