Lockdown extended 2 weeks from May 4 to May 17

The Prime Minister had discussions with the Home Minister, Railway Minister, Finance Minister. The meeting was attended by senior officials including CDS General Bipin Rawat. The lockdown has now been extended to 2 weeks in the country. Then now this will be the third phase lockdown. The country has extended the lockdown for 2 weeks from May 4 to May 17. However some concessions will be given in the green zone.

In view of the current Corona crisis in the country and the control of Corona in the country due to the lockdown, the Home Department has ordered the Government of India to extend the lockdown till May 4, 2020 under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

In addition, the Home Department has issued guidelines for the regulation of various activities during this time. These guidelines are determined by the Red Zone, Orange Zone and Green Zone classified in the country. Districts that fall into the Orange and Green Zones are given a lot of exemptions.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare provided detailed information on how the red, green and orange zones have been determined in a letter released on April 30.

1. Districts which have not reported a single case so far or have not had a single positive case in the last 21 days have been placed in the green zone.

2. Statistics like total active cases, positive case doubling time, testing and surveillance will be taken into consideration while determining the districts of red zone.

3. Districts not classified into both Red and Green will be placed in the Orange Zone.

The list of districts classified as follows will be handed over to the States and Union Territories every week by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The state governments can increase the number of districts in the red zone as per their requirement but the Center cannot reduce the number of districts in the red zone.

Find out what the discount will be according to the zone

The red zone will have some sort of restriction. Bicycle rickshaw, auto rickshaw, tax and cab service will not be available here. There will also be bus service from one district to another. Spa, salon and barber shop will not open.
Rail, air, metro services and transportation from one state to another will be closed across the country. Schools, colleges and educational institutes will also be closed.
Taxi and cab service will be allowed in the Orange Zone but only one passenger will be able to travel with the driver.
