Important decision regarding university examination
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided not to cancel the final year examinations of graduation and post graduation. However, the UGC has acknowledged that examinations can be conducted online or offline to get the results.
The Union Home Ministry on Monday wrote a letter to the Higher Education Secretary giving the go-ahead to take the final year examinations of the college and university. The letter said so
On Monday, UGC issued new guidelines 2020 for final examinations of the course and semester examinations in universities, colleges, deemed universities, colleges and other educational institutions under which it has been made mandatory for universities and colleges to conduct final year examinations. However, the UGC guidelines have come too late as even before these guidelines came out, many universities had decided on their own exams.
So some other universities and colleges were waiting for UGC guidelines for final year and semester exams. It will be mandatory for the Higher Education Institute to take the final examination as per the guidelines of UGC.
