Good news for pensioners

The relief order related to Pension Payment Order (PPO) for Central Civil Pensioners came on Wednesday. These pensioners will now be relieved of the worry of having an original copy of the PPO. The Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare (DoPPW) has found that many pensioners lose an original copy of their PPO over time and then face various difficulties. So now it has been decided that they can protect their PPO in DigiLocker.

The Ministry of Employees, Public Grievances and Pensions said in a statement that these pensioners are facing many difficulties due to the loss of the original copy of the PPO.

It was also a dilemma for new retirees due to the Corona virus epidemic to be physically present to get a hardcopy of the PPO.

According to the statement, the department has decided to integrate the Electronic Pension Payment Order (E-PPO) with the Digital Locker, developed by the Public Finance Management System, to facilitate the lives of retired employees in view of these problems. Can store and take a printout of PPO whenever he wants. With this help, the permanent record of the pensioner’s PPO will be kept in Digilocker. The problem of delay in reaching PPO to new pensioners will be eliminated and the need to provide a physical copy of PPO will be eliminated.

DigiLocker is a digital document wallet. In this, digital copies of important documents can be stored anywhere. According to the ministry, the e-PPO facility is built with Future software. Future Software is a single window platform for pensioners from the beginning of the pension process to the end of the process. This software will give retired employees the option to link their Digilocker to a future account and get an e-PPO.
