Aadhaar card facility is available to adults as well as children. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues a blue Aadhaar card for children below 5 years of age. It is also called child support card. So let us know what is the process of making it.

For children under 5 years old
A document that shows the parent’s relationship with the child. Such as a child’s birth certificate or a public discharge card / slip from a hospital
Support from one of the parents / guardians
Whenever a child’s Aadhaar card is made, take the original copy of both these documents with you.
Document for a child between 5 and 15 years


If there is no document in the child’s name then the birth certificate as a document showing their relationship with the parents.

Pay attention to these things
Biometric details of children from 5 years of age are not taken, only photo is taken.
Biometrics of children under 5 years of age i.e. fingerprints and eyeballs do not develop.
Biometric details are taken when the child is 5 years old.
Their biometrics change as the child gets older. These details need to be updated when the child turns 15.
Updates to the child’s biometrics are free.
No documents required for biometrics update. Just take the child to the Aadhaar center with their Aadhaar card.
